TrendForce’s Jan 5 outlook said memory makers were prioritizing server applications, driving across-the-board 1Q26 price increases with server DRAM projected up 60%+ QoQ as capacity steered to high-capacity RDIMMs for AI servers. Its Jan 19 analysis mapped the big three’s 2025–26 legacy-DRAM (DDR4) exit strategy amid the crunch. Analyst coverage (TweakTown, TechRadar) called for record 1Q26 PC DRAM contract prices, roughly doubling earlier estimates.
The exit-strategy map mattered most for our market: it confirmed DDR4’s remaining new supply was a closing window, not a plateau. Every operator of Dell 14G / HPE Gen10-class fleets planning 2026 capacity had, from January, a shrinking-new-supply thesis in print. No strong US-specific used-channel news items surfaced for this month.
