Model names like SYS-2029U encode form factor and platform: the leading digit is the chassis height (1/2/4U), the middle digits the platform family, and suffixes the configuration. Barebone (chassis+board) combinations are common, which is why two "identical" Supermicro systems can differ inside — always verify the board model and BIOS level, not just the SYS number.
